nirvana - you know you’re right!

I will never bother you
I will never promise to
I will never follow you
I will never bother you

Never speak a word again
I will crawl away for good

I will move away from here
You won’t be afraid of fear
No thought was put into this
I Always knew it would come to this
Things have never been so swell
I have never felt so well
Pain!
Pain!
Pain!

You know you’re right
You know you’re right
You know you’re right

I’m so warm and calm inside
I no longer have to hide
Let’s talk about someone else
Steaming soup begins to melt
Nothing really bothers her
She just wants to love herself

I will move away from here
You won’t be afraid of fear
No thought was put into this
I Always knew it would come to this
Things have never been so swell
I have never felt so well

Pain!
Pain!
Pain!
Pain!
Pain!

You know you’re right (x17)
Pain…

meaning:

All three versions of "You Know You’re Right" feature different lyrics and dynamics; some have suggested that even the studio version represents a work-in-progress. However, all versions seem to address a theme of disenchantment, leading some to believe it was written about Cobain’s marriage to Love. Indeed, lyrics such as "Nothing really bothers her/ She just wants to love herself" can be interpreted as either a defense or an indictment of Love.

bring out my idealism! come out and play!
